Holiday task: Write an analysis of a teen film you have watched.

21 JUMP STREET

The film 21 jump street is based on a two men acting as high school students for the police force to catch out a drug dealer selling a new drug in school. 

The target audience:

The target audience for this film is teenagers i can tell as the setting of the film is in a school. another reason the film may be for teenagers is its two main characters being young. both characters have been kicked out of school and are trying to make something of their lives. The audience can relate to this as some children are under achieving yet still have dreams and ambitions also teenagers are very rebellious and up for a challenge.

Characters:

Popular kid - this is the character of the drug dealer he also plays the popular boy with the most power around the school. most of the student look up to this character.

The wannabe - this is the character with low self issues. This character is very powerless yet is very smart and has potential to be someone if they play cool.

The Jock - this is the most good looking male in the school, everyone looks up to him and lusts over him. despite the good looks he is not very intelligent and lacks focus in school because of attention.

 Genre and sub-genre

the genre of the film is comedy, we can see this as the 2 characters mock what its like being police officers and also typical high school characters.

 many elements of this film signify that it is a comedy film. some of the sub-genres may be action as there are guns, drugs and fighting
