Analysis of a teen film watched homework

Step up 3D (2010)

Trailer:

The movie is about Moose and Camille Gage as they head to New York University, the former dancer of whom is majoring in electrical engineering after promising his father that he would not dance anymore. However, he soon stumbles upon a dance battle, meeting Luke Katcher and his House of Pirates dance crew and later teaming up with them to compete in the World Jam dance contest against their rival, the House of Samurai dance crew.

I think this movie will appeal to teens as it relates to urban music, romance, student, student life and violence. An example of a in this movie binary oppositions consists of someone who is trying to get an education compared to other who are on the street and have nothing to in life.

One of the camera shots used in this movie long shots; used to capture the dancing from a distance on the dance-floor and to show how large the dance crew is. Another shot used was a mid shot to show the upper body of the dancers and to partially view their facial expressions, close-up shots focus more on the facial expression. All of the shots are used to show how the dancers move and do tricks as this is a dance movie.

Towards the end of the movie, there was a final party which consisted of  the participants of the event all getting on to the stage and battling it out. The party used rnb and hip hop music which was very loud and appeals to young people, there was also a lot of alcohol and dancing.
