The technical aspects have helped portray the characters better. We have used different shot types to show status through each of the characters (when Jamilla takes Tarjae’s watch) this helped the audience understand who the characters were. We also used mise on scene. The props (clothing) the sound (in the beginning we used saddened music) when bullies arrived we used rap.

Question 5

The roll of the rough cut feedback helped improve our teen opening as we used different shots to help introduce the characters which were teenagers.

my teen film reached the target audience through the cinema screening which was shown to the ages we targeted at. it was a success as all viewers were students so each one of them could possibly relate to the situation. we have also put it on vimeo as well...

Evaluation Question 4

Who would be the audience for your media product?

The wider audience our teen film would be an average teenage boy or girl who is interested in movies in general, fashion, music, and clothes. They may also enjoy doing athletics, going to the movies and possibly going to large music events. They may also have a good clothing sense and are into designer clothes but nothing to expensive. More specifically, the type of person to watch our teen film is someone who has gone through hard times in their life and was subjected to bullying as well.

The unique selling point of our movie is that people can relate to our movie and it contains real-life situations that teenagers and young people can relate to and could make it easier for them to share the experiences with other people.

This is my interview that I conducted to ask the audience about the teen film opening that my group has created:

Evaluation Question 5

Evaluation Question 6

Evaluation Question 7

When I did the preliminary task compared to the final production of my film, I have learnt how to use new programs and software's which I have never come across before. Programs I have used in the production of our groups film are; Slideshare, Timetoast, Prezi, Blogger, Final Cut Pro, slide.es, Photoshop, an online audio converter, Microsoft word, Microsoft power point and many other programs. The programs have helped me to create pieces of work using a range of different technologies, instead of using one type of program to write pieces of work on. A piece of software that has helped me the most is Blogger as it has allowed me to write up Blogs to post online and for everyone in my group to see.

Mise en scene is about all aspects of a film and everything that is on the screen. In 'Demise' we used various locations inside the library, at the college gates and the dining hall. The use of our locations was intended to show travel between each scene. At the start of the film, the main character is seen killing themselves and a jump-cut is used to switch to another scene where the actor is entering the college, this is an example of travelling and arriving. The jump-cut helped to link the first scene with the next scene but at another different location which was the college.

Who watches teen movies?

Teen movies are watched mainly by teenagers aged between 14-19, the reason for this is because the events that happen in the movie usually can relate to and appeal to a teenage audience.

Our teen film Demise is aimed at an audience aged 15-20 male and female. We aimed our film at this audience as teens between these ages are usually associated with themes such as bullying, suicide, abuse etc. Therefore they are more likely to relate to the events which take place in the film.

I have created a Facebook profile for our film Demise. The profile is aimed at a specific group which is the social networking site users. Through this we are able to use free advertising through facebook and attract young teens who use the site.

filming session/editing

Today our group added extra shots to our film fro advice given by the teacher. Currently, the shots are being implemented into our current opening scene on final cut pro to improve the film however, this is only our rough cut and would be improved further to in the upcoming days before the deadline next week. Next lesson, our group will be producing photo evidence for the filming sessions we have covered.

March 3rd Editing

Today we responded to our feedback and went out gathered more shots, better shots!
We added some traveling and arriving shots so the audience know who the characters are straight away.
We also re-filmed a bulling scene adding a range of different angled shots such as, shot reverse shot, close ups, extreme close ups etc.
We are going to take the new improved shots and edit them into our film opening today adding to the scenes that have already been edited.
We are aiming to finish all our editing over todays lesson and our next lesson, so that it is ready for next weeks deadline. Also we will be able to tweak any little errors in the following lessons.
